Process: Citibank credit cards out of sync

Feb 2: Dear customer, you're all set to pay your bill online from a bank account:


Feb 3: Attention customer, you may not pay your card bill online:



Perp: Citibank
Summary: Customer completes online enrollment to pay credit card bill online from a bank account. Days later, Citibank sends confirmation that the account is ready to accept payments. Customer tries to make a payment, and is scolded by the website for not waiting until the account is "active."
Remedies: We're not real sure what the 6-day delay buys Citibank in terms of security, so first consider chopping that down. For the primary issue, don't send "your account is ready to accept payments" unti the account is ready to accept payments.

I've been using Citibank credit cards for quite a long time and they always make it easy to deal with the card and the company itself.
